Introduction
Industrial solid waste is difficult to naturally degrade. Take ceramic waste as an example. China generates about 18 million tons of ceramic waste each year. More than half of this waste ceramic is disposed of through burial, which will inevitably cause irreparable harm to the human environment in the long run. Therefore, there is an urgent need for an efficient, economical, green, and sustainable technical solution to address the challenge of recycling and reusing industrial solid waste. From the perspective of material design in terms of structure, composition, and performance, this technology aims to meet different product application scenarios, performance requirements, and apparent decorative effects. Through the optimization of high-temperature sintering additive formulations and the adjustment of particle size distribution of industrial solid waste, ceramic regenerated permeable bricks have been successfully prepared. As a permeable material, this porous ceramic tile, which breathes, can be used on the road surfaces of sponge cities to alleviate waterlogging, water shortages, and the urban heat island effect. Its permeability coefficient exceeds the national standard by 3.8 times, and its weight is reduced by nearly 30% while improving various performance aspects. Leveraging the strong survival ability of ceramics in natural spaces and their non-degradability, we have transformed disadvantages into advantages, creating permeable bricks with higher hardness, permeability, lighter weight, and high salt and alkali resistance. Moreover, Yiyi Environmental Protection's solid waste recycling technology, which focuses on the recycling of ceramic waste, aims to address ceramic waste management issues. The novel binder we have invented allows our products to achieve a high recycling rate without the need for any non-environmentally friendly substances such as cement and adhesives. By adopting this process, we have reduced the carbon emissions from raw material mining and the environmental harm caused by the burial of solid waste. A significant amount of ceramic waste is recycled and converted into the manufacture of permeable bricks, with a recycling rate of over 90% and the potential for 100% recycling again.
